Meet Dr. Mary

Mary Sherbel, DDS, MS

I love being an orthodontist! I feel fortunate to be able to positively impact the life of my amazing patients, and I value the opportunity to get to know them personally.

As a clinician, I know it is crucial to build open, clear, and effective lines of communication with patients and families. When people understand that I am listening and value their input, they are more trusting and that leads to them being more engaged with their treatment. At Aspire Orthodontics, we work together as a team to ensure the best treatment experience and most amazing new smile!

It is an honor to practice alongside my husband, and to serve this community we know and love. I cannot imagine anything more fulfilling than helping to instill confidence in people and, in doing so, giving each the self-assurance to achieve their dreams!

EDUCATION, CONSTANT LEARNING, AND PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

I grew up in Northville, Michigan, and – like my husband, Dr. Jason – completed all my formal education at the University of Michigan.

My degrees/certifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neuroscience with High Honors
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS), graduated in the top of my class and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Epsilon National Dental Honor Society
  • Master of Science (MS) in Orthodontics
  • Board Certified, American Board of Orthodontics

Life-long learning is very important to me, professionally and personally. It is my responsibility to stay current on the latest research, technology, and trends in order to provide evidence-based treatment and predictable results. I enjoy the learning process and incorporating developments into the practice and patient care.

My goal is to exceed each patient’s expectations, for both their treatment experience and their finished smile!

Throughout the year, Dr. Jason and I participate in numerous forms of continuing education, learning from leaders in the specialty.

BEYOND THE OFFICE

Outside the clinic, I like to exercise my creativity through baking, cooking, and making homemade cards. I also have a passion for staying active and traveling with family and friends. Some of my favorite times and happiest memories are centered in summer visits to Northern Michigan!
